That’s what someone said to me when talking about my content.
“Be a bit lighter,” they suggested.
Initially, I wanted to roll my eyes, 🙄 but I DID ask for their opinion on something specific. So NO eye-rolling allowed!🙅🏻
Here’s what I suggest YOU do anytime you ask for other people’s opinion:
1️⃣ When you ask for feedback, be open to that feedback. It’s not what you always want to hear, but you asked for it! Take it like a woman! 👊🏼😂
2️⃣ Some feedback will really sting. 🐝 It will either be TRUTH you need to hear that will only help you grow. And other times, it will be simply projections on what THEY admire IN YOU that they want to further cultivate in themselves. So they may only pick up on certain aspects of you but not look at the whole picture. #subconciousshitrightthere
3️⃣ Be sure you’re asking THE RIGHT person for their feedback. For example, if you’re looking to grow your business, don’t get advice from friends/family who don’t have one. Period. You will get ALL kinds of projections there!
4️⃣Take time to reflect on the feedback so you can filter out the advice that you feel is fruitful, truthful, and in alignment with who you really are. 🏹
As for me, I really appreciated the feedback of I’m too deep. After some reflection, I came down to this: that’s who I am, who I’ve always been, even as a child. So it helped me OWN IT even more.
But I’m also very silly and love having fun. So for whatever reason, my deepness overshadowed this “lighter” aspect of my personality. So I’m just releasing that to them!
It’s fine to get feedback. But after that, it’s important we listen to our inner guide and make our decisions by trusting and believing in ourselves.🦋
