Here’s the deal, anyone can all fall into that trap.
Have you?
But having the awareness of what you say and what it could really mean is the key to better understanding your behavior.
So how is the phrase “I’m so busy” self-sabotaging?
1) It’s a common way for people to distract themselves from what they really need/want to do externally in their life/business (but are not doing it for whatever reason, usually rooted in fear).
2) People who are constantly “busy” is also an indication that they are running from themselves (not wanting to face the inner work to make the changes for #1)
I used to be the queen of “I’m so busy” … so I understand both sides of the coin. I remember it was not only a mechanism of distraction, but it also fed my ego and made me feel “important.”
And the hard truth is that it kept me in a cycle of sameness, overwhelm, and burnout that never produced the results I REALLY wanted. 😩
I’m still a work in progress.
Systems help.
Delegating helps.
Time management helps.
Being organized helps.
But you know what helps the most?
Being mindful of the thoughts you speak and the power it holds within your mind.
Being productive is different.
Working within purpose feels different.
Making a decision for things to be easy is a choice – and makes the flow of work different.
